Another Place, Another Time

If there was an answer, I’d find it here.  Mira was the first to see it.  At first I didn’t see it at all.  But then a figure started to take shape.  I guess you want to know more about me.  Well, I’m an orphan, along with my brother and two sisters. I’m Peter, and I’m the oldest boy and the smartest.  My brother, John, the prankster of the family, has thought of all the pranks in the history of the universe!  My little sister, Jill, is the youngest of the family and definitely the most shy.  She barely ever speaks.  My older sister, Mira, is the oldest and is a pain.  She thinks she can boss me around just because she’s older than me.

Anyway, what Mira saw was a boat/train.  Let’s just call it ‘The Beauty.’  Before I could breathe, Mira climbed in.  John got in next and Jill right after him. Not wanting to be left behind, I went in, too.   Immediately after I sat down, as if on cue, The Beauty lurched forward on a now appearing railroad.

Jill actually smiled and said, “This is going to be fun!” the most she has said since ma & pa died.

Mira looked at her in astonishment, but before she could say anything we were on an ocean.

“That’s funny,” I said “I don’t remember any oceans in Atlanta.”

“Oh, look!” cried Jill, “A castle!”

I looked and there it was: a gold and emerald and ruby and silver castle.  It sparkled in the sunlit sky.

When The Beauty stopped on land, we all tried to get out of the boat and into the castle first. Mira got out first, then Jill, then John, then finally me.  When we went inside, a king and queen greeted us.

“Ah, they have come,” stated the queen with a very familiar voice.

“Yes, they have,” replied the king, his voice too, very familiar.

“Come, my son, the king to be,” the king said, as he pointed to me.

“Me?” I asked.

“Yes, you,” the king replied.

I approached the king and explained that I was an orphan and couldn’t possibly be his son.  “Ah, but you are.  When we died, we came to rein over this land,” the king explained.

“Yes, and when we called for you, our transportation came to pick you up,” the queen told us.

For the rest of our lives we are to live with our long lost parents.

    Mellenie,

I really enjoyed your story. The detail about your main characters at the beginning really drew me in. Nice first post!

I loved that story, Mellenie! It really caught my attention at the begginning! I can’t really relate to it, but it was also very interesting! I absolutley would like you to do another story, maybe with gummy bears and chocolate rain. I know, it sounds kind of weird, but I’m sure you can do a really good story!
